Wat Pho temple in Thailand

Wat Pho is also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha at Phra Nakhon district, and Thailand. The temple was built as a restoration of a former temple in the exact same place. In fact, the temple began in 1788 and was restored 1824th Wat Pho was recently restored in 1982 to replace the oldest and largest magnificance recovery.

The Wat Pho is one of the largest temples in Thailand. It covers an area of 80,000 square meters. Wat PhoHouses more than a thousand images of Buddha and one of them is the image of the reclining Buddha. This image and forty-six feet long and fifteen feet high. The body of the image is covered with the pot of gold and eyes are made of pearls. The feet of the Reclining Buddha are decorated with 108 auspicious scenes in Indian and Chinese style.

Before the foundation of the temple, the place was the center of Thai traditional medicine. There are statuesin the temple are various yoga postures. The temple is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage known. In 1962 a school of traditional medicine and massage at the temple was built.

The temple is divided into two blocks of a street that runs from east to west. The first block is, where to find the Reclining Buddha and the second block is used as a residence for monks, and home to the school of traditional Thai medicine andMassage.
